A. Introduction

01. What is National All Rounder Championship?

02. Who can participate in NARC 2021?

Anyone born on or between 2nd May 2003 and 1st May 2018 can register in the event.

03. The activities are age wise. What if my child's birthday falls in the middle of the event, and (s)he is now eligible for the next age category?

You child's age in complete number of years as on 1st May 2021 will be considered as the age category for participation.

05. How many activities are there in the event?

30 age-appropriate activity for every participant.

06. Will the event require buying any material or equipment?

All activities are such that it can be done using easily available material/equipment at home. Or can be borrowed easily from any neighbour.

07. Where will the event take place? Does the child need to travel anywhere?

The child need not travel anywhere & all activities can be done at/around home.

08. How much time commitment will the event require from the child?

A total of 50-90 hours required from child over a period of 90 days. Assuming the child to devote 2 hours on an average on any day, it implies anywhere between 25-45 days for the child. The event is spread over a period of 90 days so that the child can attempt activities in a stress-free manner without worrying about school schedule & any other competitive events.

09. I am a busy parent. How much of my time will go in this event?

This competition/event is designed to enable free time for parents like yourself. For any activity, for parents of <8 year old, you may require 15-30 minutes to explain the activity to the child. Post that, the child can engage in the activity himself/herself for the next few hours not just for the purpose of participation in this event but also as fun exercise later on. This process ensures the child is constructively engaged in a low screen time format while parents can get some free time. At the time of submission, parents will have to record a video  or click a photo, depending upon the type of activity,  for submission and this may take 5 minutes to 30 minutes depending upon the number of retakes involved. Many busy parents have shared that the activities help improve their bonding level with the child.

10. When will the event take place? How frequently does the event happen?

The next version of event will take place from 1 May 2021 to 31 July 2021. The event occurs twice every year during May-Jul & Nov-Jan.

11. My child has school exams during the event. How will he/she manage?

The period of 90 days for the event is to ensure the child can manage other commitments (exams, travel etc.) without getting impacted as the event will take less than 90 hours of child’s time. Moreover, having the event over 90 days lets the child disengage if the child needs a break from the event for a few days before re-attempting the activities. Hence, the child will not be at any disadvantage and can easily participate.

12. My child had participated in the last championship. Why should the child register this time?

Majority of the activities will be new and different from the previous versions of the event. You should register your child again to give him/her a chance to continue to grow further, have a lot of fun and be constructively occupied.

19. My child's school has FREE registrations available. How can I use the same?

Typically, the ATL coordinator or a nominated teaching staff is the go-to-person to request for the registration link. We will disclose the name & contact of the person in the list of schools on our Registration page if the school explicitly instructs us for the same.

20. How do schools nominate students for the FREE registrations?

Every school follows their own policy. Some make it First-Come-First-Serve whereas some schools identify who are the most interested students to participate in the event. Irrespective of how they decide, the process is the same that every school gets a unique registration link which they can share with their students & interested students can register using that link without paying any money. Typically, the ATL coordinator or a nominated teaching staff is the go-to-person to request for the registration link. We will disclose the name & contact of the person in the list of schools on our Registration page if the school explicitly instructs us for the same.

21. How many FREE registrations are available with schools?

22. Who is the contact person for my child's school for Free registrations?

23. My school has nominated me; do I need to pay the registration fee?

No, if you are registering through the school provided registration link.

24. I had paid to register my child. Now, my child's school has decided to nominate my child for FREE registration. Am I eligible for a refund of my paid fees?

No, the fees cannot be refunded.

25. Can we register as a team as well?

26. Why should I or anyone register as a team?

Participating as a team encourages peer-to-peer learning opportunities & also, allows the child to participate for additional leaderboard thereby increasing chances of featuring in leaderboard.

28. What is the maximum number of children allowed in one team?

A team involves 5 players - neither less nor more.

29. Do members of the team have to be of the same age? If not, how would you decide what age bracket activities that team has to do?

Team members can be of different age. Every child does the activity as per his/her age.

30. Are there different team tasks or the same as the ones given to the individual participants?

The tasks are the same & there is neither additional tasks nor repeat tasks.

31. Is it up to the team to decide which member performs which activity or there should be an equal participation from each member?

Everyone has to do all the activities if they are trying to top the leaderboard i.e each of the 5 team members should do 30 activities each.

32. My school has 1000 FREE registrations available. Does that mean 1000 students can register for FREE & then those 1000 students can invite 4000 more students to participate as their team members? Doesn't that make the number of FREE registrations available to our school 5000?

33. If I pay register for PREMIUM & then, invite 4 team members to join my team, are they PREMIUM or REGULAR participants?

Regular.

34. What is the last date to register as a team?

18 May 2021.

35. If my child wishes to discontinue participation in the event after registration, is that allowed? The school is nominating my child and mentioning that participation is mandatory.

Yes, you may discontinue any time. Do not participate if the child is not enjoying.

36. Can my registration be cancelled by the organizers?

37. I had filled wrong details related to my child during registration. What will happen to his/her registration?

For every child, who features on Leaderboard, we verify the details of child's registration before publishing final leaderboard. If the child's registration details are found to be incorrect, the child's participation would be disqualified. 

38. Do I need to submit any proofs related to my child's age & city for registration?

For every child, who features on Leaderboard, we verify the details of child's registration before publishing final leaderboard. You will be asked to share the proofs then. It helps us ensure we minimize child's data collection & collect it only for few cases.

43. Some of the activities are very tough. I request you to change the activity. Is it possible?

The activity is same for all children in every age category. Any tough activity would be tough for all in that age group. Our activities are designed keeping in mind age development milestones & the right extra nudge to take the child forward.

44. Can I perform the activities in my mother tongue or in Hindi?

Some activity require an activity to be done in a particular language only. In such cases, no other language is permitted. For others, where language is not fixed, everyone can do the activity in either English or Hindi. For children in age category 3 & 4 years, children are allowed to do the activity in their native language (not dialect) as well.

D. Submission

 

45. Do I need to submit all the activities?

You should try to do as many activities as possible. More activities mean higher level participation certificate & better chances of featuring in leaderboard.

47. I am not able to upload my entry. Please help me.

Please check if (1) your internet connection is stable, (2) whether the OTP mail has gone to spam folder (3) your entered email address is valid (4) you are checking the email address provided for OTP (5) your file size is less than the allowed maximum (100 MB). Write to info@kid-ex.com if the problem still persists.

48. Is there a size limit to the file that we can upload for submissions?

Max 100 MB size files can be uploaded.

49. My recorded video's size is larger than the allowed limit. How can I submit my entry?

You may try reducing the size of the video by using any suitable software. Or if you send the file to yourself on Whatsapp through any other number, Whatsapp reduces the size of the file & the received file is of lesser size.

50. The submission requires creating a zipped file. How to make a zip file?

51. I have submitted the entry. What happens next?

You would have received an email confirming that your entry has been received. If you have not received the email, it means your entry is not submitted. For further next steps, you may check here.

52. I had submitted an entry by mistake. Will it count as a submission? Is there a way I can request for the entry to be ignore?

Yes, it would be counted as a submission. Currently, our system does not allow any such requests to ignore. In future editions, when this constraint changes, we will inform you.

E. Evaluation

53. Will we receive just the rating or there would be a feedback too?

You will receive the rating for your submission. We do not share the feedback though if you review the submission, you get customized feedback as well.

54. When will I receive the rating for my submitted entries?

55. Who evaluates the entry?

We have a network of judges including generalists & specialists. All M & EX ratings and Review requests are evaluated by topic specialists.

56. I have received an email with the child's rating. I am not able to understand the same. Please help me understand.

57. I am not able to view full scorecard. Can I know how to view full scorecard?

If you are opening the email on mobile phones, certain handsets may not naturally show the full scorecard. Click more at the bottom of the mail to open full table of ratings. Change mobile view to landscape mode to view the full table.

58. In case I am not satisfied with the rating in an event, can I request review of the same?

59. In case I am not satisfied with the rating in an event, can I re-submit the activity?

Yes, you can submit upto 2 times for any activity.

60. What is the difference between review and re-submission?

Review is when you are requesting to get the entry re-checked by the judges. Whereas resubmission is when you submit another entry for the same activity. You should never submit the same entry for the activity considering that as a review as you will exhaust your limit of 2 submissions.

61. My child's ratings has not improved despite review and/or resubmission. Why?

The submitted entry/entries do not meet the evaluation guidelines for higher rating. Review & resubmission are no guarantee for rating improvement. It gets corrected only if any human error had happened originally during evaluation.

62. My child deserves "EX" according to me. Why is my child not given a rating of "EX"?

The submitted entry/entries do not meet the evaluation guidelines for higher rating. You may request review to hear the exact reason for why was the rating not EX.

63. How many times an entry can be reviewed? Can I request for a re-review of the submission if the rating did not improve after the first review?

Any submission can be reviewed only once. Just like DRS in cricket. If you submit 2 entries for an activity, you may review each submission only once if you desire.

64. If I submit an entry using an unregistered email ID or unregistered mobile number, will my entries by counted?

Either mail address or mobile number needs to be correct & as per the registration details, else the entry is not considered for scorecard & leaderboard.

65. What if I If I submit an entry using the submission link for an age group different than mine?

The entry would not be considered for scorecard & leaderboard.

F. Leaderboard

 

66. How will we know regarding our child's performance in the event versus other children?

Leaderboard gets published which helps you see your child's relative performance versus other children. More details can be found here.

67. How are the leaders determined? How are tie breaks managed?

68. When will the final results be declared?

15th August 2021.

69. Can the results provided by KidEx coaches be challenged?

You can request reviews for any activity & if rating changes, it automatically impacts the leaderboard. If you think the leaderboard has errors, you may highlight the same & we will revisit the same. We acknowledge mistakes candidly if it occurs & work hard to ensure it doesnt get repeated. Only in cases, where a judge post review has finalized the rating, the ratings become unchallengeable.

74. Will the certificates be at school level as well?

Yes.

75. Last time, multiple companies offered their products & services at discount to participants. Would the same be applicable this time as well?

If any company proactively reaches out to us, we will be offering their products & services at discount to participants provided their offered discounts are better than their prices anywhere else in the market. We will proactively not be seeking such partnerships.

76. What are the prizes for the winners other than the certificates & medals?

78. Who gets the prize in case of a tie-break and how much?

Indivdual/team with lesser number of submissions will be the leader in case of tie-break. If there are multiple leaders, every one gets the same, full prize.

81. When will we get the prizes?

The details would be announced in the week of 16-19 August 2021.

82. When will we get the physical certificates & medals?

There are no physical certificates & medals planned in the event currently. 

H. Miscellaneous

 

83. I am not able to open KidEx website on my system. Please guide me what can I do.

You may face this problem if (1) you are using company laptop & company has enabled third party blockers (2) you use Jio's Internet network & they have moved our website to list of blocked websites (3) your internet browser does not allow third party cookies. You will not be able to solve (1) & need to access our website on your mobile. For (2), re-start your device & the problem will go away. For (3), enable third party cookies in your internet browser. 84. I am not receiving emails from KidEx. Please let me know how can I get the emails.

You may have accidentally unsubscribed from the mailing list. You will not be able to receive emails unless you get resubscribed. To resubscribe, you will need to provide an alternate email address to replace your original email address. We allow such changes only once i.e. if you hit unsubscribe twice accidentally, we will not be able to re-subscribe you again. 

85. I accidentally unsubscribed from the KidEx mails. How can I resubscribe?

86. Is my data safe & secure?

We have a strict measures in place to ensure 100% data security of all participants. The data does not leave our servers and we are using services of industry leaders to ensure data safety and security.

87. Last time, KidEx had launched a referral cashback scheme. Are there any such schemes available currently?

No, we are not running any such programs this time.

88. What will happen if I do not receive emails? Are my entries considered?

You entries will be considered but you will not be receiving updates related to your entries. Only visible document to you would be Leaderboards where your name will be visible if you feature in the LeaderBoard.

89. What will happen if any other participant uses foul language with me or my family, or threaten fellow participants or even, any members of organizing committee?

Kindly report any such cases you encounter & we will look into the same & take necessary actions in line with our policies & terms & conditions.
